Hahnenklee-Bockswiese is definitely worth a visit - and this for several reasons! Whether healthy climate, the unique Stave church, the "ErlebnisBocksBerg" or the stunning nature. There is something in the air in Hahnenklee-Bockswiese, located on a sunny high-lying plateau. And not just the scent of the Harz spruce forests which surround our marvellous rambling location in the Harz, but rather also a very special flair. The peace and the atmosphere which the town radiates with its unique situation, far away from any through traffic, lift the spirits and make rambling a pleasure at any time of the day and the year, as all trails around Hahnenklee-Bockswiese pass through constantly changing countryside and past charming villages. In summer over colourful meadows and fields, in winter over snow-covered heights and frozen streams, but always through stunningly beautiful forests, on Bocksberg Mountain, past the ponds, ditches and sights of the Oberharzer Wasserregal historic water power system, an amazing cultural monument - and, and, and. No matter whether you ramble for relaxation or as a sporting challenge, whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or reach for your Nordic walking poles, whether you discover the area as a ski tourer or as a cyclist undertake mountain bike tours or leisurely family excursions through the Harz – Hahnenklee-Bockswiese is for good reason a “veritable rambler’s paradise”. Besides lots of physical activities, Hahnenklee also offers numerous cultural treasures during your vacation. Here you can find the only Norwegian Stave church in Germany with astonishing architecture and concerts played on its own carillon, taking place on a regular basis. Another cultural heritage to marvel at is the UNESCO world heritage site Upper Harz Water Management System. You will find 12 ponds of the world heritage in Hahnenklee itself. You also have the possibility to discover and experience this fascinating heritage together with a certified UNESCO-guide. Last but not least, various cultural offers can be found in the imperial town of Goslar, approx. 16 km away from Hahnenklee. Not only ancient churches, half-timbered houses and picturesque alleys and places are waiting to be discovered. Also the historic old town is definitely worth a visit.
