Agathi beach is famous for its fine sand and its shallow waters. On your way to the beach, you will see the Medieval Castle of Feraclos (Feraklos), which is also worth a visit. Fine, wet sand and some canteens - this is the only thing you will find on Agathi beach in Rhodes. It is a beautiful, sheltered, cosy beach, and the only sign of civilization are its canteens, all of them providing you with the necessary food and refreshments. At the right side of the beach you will find some interesting underwater rock formations along the coastline, making this also an ideal spot for snorkeling. At the end of the beach there is a 700-800 year old cave chapel with a white painted front. On the left side there is a cave secured with grids and on the right side some rooms built into the rock. Camping may be possible there, so take your sleeping bag and camp at the cave which is at the end of the beach. To get to the beach, follow the signs from Haraki (5 minutes along a passable dirt road). Half way along the road you come upon the medieval castle of Feraclos. The canteens at the beach rent out sun beds, umbrellas and have lavatories and showers. Location on Google maps: Click here |
