The Nublo rural park offers a landscape of dismantled structures and strong cliffs, with sectors of great visual interest and spectacular after 14 million years of constructive (volcanic) and destructive (erosion) activity. The great difference in altitudes within the space contributes to housing a great variety of natural habitats, some in good condition, with numerous endemic endangered species, some unique to this space. Also the enormous variety of birdlife due to the numerous reservoirs, pine forests and coastal cliffs, as well as the role of forest masses as aquifer recharge and soil conservation. We also highlight the great ethnographic value of the space, due to the agrosilvopastoral activity, the traditional hamlets, the slopes used for cultivation and the numerous archaeological remains of the ancient indigenous people of Gran Canaria, with the very important Troglodyte Complex of Bentayga, Risco Caído and Acusa, named on July 7, 2019, UNESCO World Heritage with the denomination of Cultural Landscape of Risco Caído and Sacred Mountains of Gran Canaria, much of it being integrated into the rural park of Nublo.
