The most famous beach in Skiathos and one of the most well known in Europe, having been included time and time again in different lists of the best beaches in the world. It earns a Blue Flag every year. It’s named after the tall pin trees that envelop the entire length of its coast. Koukounaries is among the sites in Skiathos not to be missed and it’s easy to access by car or local bus since it’s the terminal. It’s also known as “Golden Sand” since its very fine sand shimmers like gold under the summer sun.

The beach provides every type of water sport, the option to rent a boat, scuba dive or play tennis. Koukounaries is on the southwest point of Skiathos and, apart from all else, boasts a spectacular sunset viewpoint that shouldn’t be missed. The area offers a multitude of choices in accommodation as well as camping and many tavernas, restaurants, bars and cafés.
