Skiathos, Greece, October 2023. Jan & Jan-Jan's Rejseklubben

We do not travel as much as we want to, so went to Apollo's website, to see if there was any good offers for a week of holiday. So we desided to go to Skiathos in Greece. Again we had a good look on Google maps, and since Skiathos town is the only big town on the island, we found Hotel Meltemi right in the middle of the town, we had a perfect view other the new port from our balcony. We had booked a car for the hole week at the airport, so we could drive around a see the hole of Skiathos, and it is not that big, and a lot of the small roads was only gravel.

But if you go to Skiathos, please go and visit The Skiathos Dog Shelter, bring the some dog food is can's (It's only 1.6 euro for a big can in the big supermarkets). We had a nice long walk with two dogs 'Molly' and 'Blue'.

Spotting airplanes at Skiathos Airport is great fun. The most obvious and truly spectacular place to view aircraft here is from the harbour and car park area at the southern end of the runway. The majority of aircraft movements are from this direction. It is quite an experience to be so close to a landing airplane, sometimes too close for comfort.

But in all a great holiday, with nice weather between 26 and 30 degrees.
